White roses

K wanted roses for Valentine's Day.
She was very persistent about it and reminded her father several times in case he'd forget.

I gotta tell you, the future boyfriends of this girl ain't gonna have it easy, haha!

PS. One of the lenses I used when shooting these photos was the Lensbaby Muse that I haven't used in ages. I even considered selling it but I might give it another chance because this time using it seemed more enjoyable and easier than the previous times. But still it's probably never going to become a favorite for me.

Recent projects part 2

Here comes the Recent Projects Living Room & Kitchen Edition!
To be honest, our living room doesn't look like this anymore since we got a new couch and armchairs a couple of weeks ago but you get the idea.

A while back we added this long shelf above the windows. It reaches all the way from the kitchen to the living room. Basically I just wanted it for my collection of old bottles. I started to have too many bottles to store them on the bookshelf, and this long shelf is perfect for them.

I've also painted these water lily murals on the living room / kitchen wall under the shelf. (More about that in a minute.) The clock is an original 60s clock which we have to wind once a week. I love the simple design and the nostalgic feeling you get when you wind it but admittedly we've forgotten to wind it a couple of times.

This lamp arrangement above our kitchen table is made out of three old lampshades. The white one still has its original color, the other two used to be orange and red. I never seem to manage to take 'before' photos when I get excited about a project but I'll try to remember to do so next time I start working on something, so that I can show you the whole process!

Here's another photo of the water lily mural. Inspired by it, I thought it might be fun to paint the radiators with a matching pattern.

So far I've finished the kitchen radiator and I decided to paint only buds instead of actual leaves because it fits the radiator better and also because the radiators are below the big murals, so it's kinda like they'd be underwater.

Clouds!

I decided to show you some of the projects I've been working on lately.
I painted the radiator already a long time ago but the ladder is a more recent project.

I purchased an old 60s bunk bed for the kids a few years ago, and my father built a ladder for it.
It looked a little dull in the otherwise colorful room, so I decided to paint it in the same style as the radiator.

I drew and cut some cloud stencils and used a sponge to get a cloud-like look without sharp outlines.
K certainly likes "walking in the air" when she goes to bed.

I also covered two old frames with a fabric I bought together with the wallpaper.
And I happened to find a lampshade with a cloud pattern very similar to the one I designed for the radiator and the ladder, so I couldn't help but buy it!

More recent projects to follow in my next post...

Lion dress by Teelikamentten

 Here come the Teelikamentten photos!

I did this photoshoot a little while ago to promote a new line of dresses designed by Teelikamentten.

I'm sure you figured the dark-haired model is K.

I used a studio of a friend with proper lights, backdrop etc.

The experience was a very positive one for everyone involved, and I cannot wait to do another shoot!

Teelikamentten's brandnew webshop is open at: http://www.teelikamentten.suomalainenverkkokauppa.fi/

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe!

I'm talking about Teelikamentten!
A local business creating gorgeous products for children and women.
The above picture shows K wearing a Teelikamentten T-shirt I purchased for her last year, and just a while back I did a photoshoot for their new line of dresses.
I'm going to share those photos with you very soon but in the meantime, do check out (only in Finnish, though!): http://www.teelikamentten.fi

Crochet hats by Karenisa

Hats, hats, more hats!

Crocheted hats that is.

All these hats are made by: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Karenisa

I'm just about to order new hats for my children, as I just purchased new winter overalls for them.
I recommend keeping an eye on Karenisa's Facebook page because she often has discount codes, and hats just could't get cuter than this!
