Baby Bath Time

S loves baths.
He's always very calm and content during and after bathing which makes it a good time for photographing him.

K likes to watch when I bathe her little brother.
She's very protective of him and I guess she wants to make sure that nothing bad happens to him.

Flowers from a friend

A friend of ours sent me flowers a few days ago. They were for S's birth. A little late, maybe, since the little man is already three months old but the timing was perfect for me to try my new Muse and the macro kit on them.

I put the vase on the floor to have enough natural light to take the pictures,
and of course K was all over the flowers.

She wanted to water them with her coffee pot...

...and just to be around something beautiful.

I guess it's human nature to enjoy beautiful little things.
I enjoy looking at this picture...

...because the shadow looks as if it were the flowers' roots.

I bought a new lens. It's a Lensbaby Muse.

I like this lens a lot but I need to get used to it a bit more. Right now it still feels a little hard getting my focus right most of the time but I do love the fact that it brings so much playfulness to taking pictures - it makes you interested in photographing things you'd overlook most of the time when thinking about what to shoot.

Speaking of playfulness...

Cheesy Carrot and Onion Soup

This is what we had for lunch today. Easy, cheap and tasty.

Cheesy Carrot and Onion Soup

1 liter water
1 tablespoon liquid vegetable bouillon (I use Touch of Taste concentrated bouillon) or 1 bouillon cube
600 grams carrot
200 grams onion
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
200 grams processed cheese (in Finland, Olympia)

Boil water. Add chopped carrots and onions. Add bouillon. Simmer for 15 minutes or until tender. Add black pepper and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Remove from heat and purée with a hand blender.
